Let's be honest. When your 2nd child arrives, life becomes a total sh*t show. Someone is always crying, pooping or eating. No one is EVER asleep at the same time. It's becomes pure insanity. Unfortunately, the needs of the youngest tend to come first and the wants of the oldest tend to come first so that you can get back to the needs of the youngest. That's where Sundays come in. I like to reserve these days for grocery shopping with my toddler. It's nothing crazy but we head to our local supermarket, just the two of us, get Olivia a snack, that she picks out of course, and a chocolate milk (thank you organic section for selling singles) and she "helps" me get everything on our shopping list. Sure this requires some major planning on my part including packing the diaper bag, dividing the grocery list into sections so that I'm not running back-and-forth with my short attention-spanned toddler in tow, etc. but, because of this, the grocery store and Costco are two of her favorite places.
Sure my toddler is only 2, but so much goes on in her little head that she is just dying to tell me all day every day and I'm simply not available. This is a perfect way for her to get at least an hour to tell me everything she is thinking and be a "big helper" which is something that always makes get proud.
Just something to think about if you have multiple children and the time to do it. One-on-one time is so important.
That's all for now! My toddler and I are changing it up today; we are headed to see her first movie in the theater. She picked "Trolls!"
