If you know me personally, it's no secret that Starbuck's is on my top 10 of list of favorite things. It's also pretty public knowledge that, to survive as a mother (or just a parent in general) coffee MUST be involved. As an avid coffee drinker (now...there was a time when I would have turned down a steaming hot cup of joe, if you can believe it), Starbucks plays a huge part in my ability to be a productive member of society on the regular. Because of this, I decided to round of my top 6 reasons that moms need/ love Starbucks:
Of course this is the obvious reason BUT that does not mean it should not be noted. Especially on a Monday morning, after a rough weekend with the kiddos and no time to fill up your travel mug from the Keurig before rushing out the door, a warm and toasty latte from Starbucks always makes everything all better.
Baby 1 would always fall asleep instantly when put in to the car. This was ideal as it was occurring before she was truly on a schedule; however, it was not ideal for someone who needed coffee and was unable to go inside of her favorite coffee shop and wait in line for fear or waking said baby. Insert Starbucks' drive-thru and all problems are solved yet again.
3. Mobile ordering.
No drive-thru? No problem! The mobile app has also changed my life. I have the perfect set-up, my workplace is approximately 8 minutes from my house, my kiddos' daycare is across the street and a Starbucks is approximately 2 minutes away from their daycare. However, this particular Starbucks does not have a drive-thru. No worries, I just drop-off our toddler, order Starbucks on my mobile app, drop-off the baby, then run in and grab my piping hot latte. Productive workday here I come!
4. Breakfast anyone?
It is a rare occasion that I get breakfast before I leave my house on weekdays. However, that does not override the fact that I am, indeed, hungry (shocking, I know). To deal with this situation, I normally just pack a pouch of oatmeal and microwave it to enjoy during my morning pump situation. Unfortunately, there are times that a pouch of oatmeal just does not sound good. This is where Starbucks' breakfast options come in handy. Might I recommend the Bacon & Gouda Breakfast Sandwich or the Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal. Yum-o!
5. The Shopping
Have you seen some of the adorable mugs that Starbucks sells? There are some amazing seasonal ceramic mugs that I always swoon over, along with the tall water cups with straws and lids that are always useful in making sure that you have met your daily water allotment. Trying to save? Simply utilize the drive-thru, this way you are ensured to make it out without any extra drinkware. (Pictured: Some of my favorite mugs from days when I was too tempted to leave empty-handed.)
6. Multiple locations inside of Target.
This is something that has absolutely changed the way that I shop. I am frequently slated to take our toddler grocery shopping with me so that my husband can get some time with our baby (the toddler gets jealous a lot). For times when I have a toddler, some extra planning is involved. If we need a million things, I tend to have to go to the larger grocery stores in our area; however, if the shopping list is minimal, I always want to take the toddler to Target as she can swing by Starbucks for a chocolate milk prior to our shopping experience.
Although this is not a new development, it is still worth mentioning. As an avid mobile phone user with unlimited data, I don't usually need to connect to wifi, as I can rely on 3G and my unlimited data plan to ensure that my phone is in working order; however, when my 3G fails me, I do tend to get a little stressed out (I blame the technological world that we live in). To avoid any undue stress, it is nice to have the option to connect to wifi in order to complete whatever it was that I might have been working on prior to losing signal.
Now tell me, why do you love Starbucks?
